Double Diploma Programme with Politechnika Poznanska

Since 2017, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Poznan University of Technology created the Double Degree Programme within two fields – Machine Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.

Poznan University of Technology consists of 10 faculties that prepare students of 27 fields. There are more than 20 thousand students and PhDs in the University.

Presentation of KIST School Scholarship Programme
As a leading science-oriented academy in the field of science and technology, KIST aims to provide real-world research and development experience for students from partner universities through intensive graduate education and to educate them as competent engineers and scientists. Language: the study process is fully in English. Duration of the study: In frames of Double Diploma Programme, Master studies last 1-2 years, PhD studies last 2-3 years. After achieving of Master thesis in Korea students receive the Korean type of Master diploma and after performing in Ukraine – the Ukrainian type of Master diploma.   Obtaining the scientific Degree: Adoption of the respective degrees is based on the results of the individual researches and the passing of the oral examination at the dissertation before the final evaluation board. Candidates for a PhD degree are required to publish at least one article in an international popular science journal. Candidates for the Master degree should publish at least one article in a scientific journal. The approval of a Master degree is based on the results achieved by the candidate in the direction of the dissertation. Publication in an international journal is optional. Three students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute – Anastasiia Konovalova (FChT), Dmytro Timchenko (IME) and Oleksandr Ovsianitskiy (FE) graduated from KIST in August 2017 after finishing the study programme.
Scholarship
  • Tuition and registration fee is covered by the professor-tutor;
  • Monthly scholarship is provided in amount of 1500 USD for PhD;
  • Majority of spendings except transfer to or from Korea are provided by KIST.
  Social support
  • Medical insurance;
  • Usage of campus objects: cafe, sport centre, post office, bank, car repair services, libraries, transfer to and from metro;
  • Supper for those who work overtime;
  • Normed sales for a living in many main tourist points of Korea;
  • One of the best dormitories throughout Korean universities (Monthly price is 120 USD. Foreign students can rent the dormitory during 2 years, one room for two people);
  • Students who will not live in the KIST campus can receive the financial support for a living up to 100 USD monthly.
Semester

  • students of 5-6 years of study or PhD can participate;
  • academic grade is 75 or higher;

  • scientific activity;
  • recommendation from the department on the participation of the candidate.

Gemeinsame Ukrainisch-Deutsche Fakultät für Maschinenbau

The Common Faculty of Machine Engineering of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg was created on 27 May 2002.

The aim of creation of The Common Faculty of Machine Engineering is the development of training of the specialists for meeting the needs of Ukrainian and common Ukrainian-German enterprises – specialists who know techniques, technologies, European standards and German language.

Study groups on The Common Faculty of Machine Engineering are formed with students of Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Physical Engineering and Paton Institute of Metal Science and Welding, who passed the competition on the faculties.

The study is chargeable with compensation of spendings for the additional educational services and deep learning of German language.

Double Diploma Programme with Merseburg University of Applied Sciences

Merseburg University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1954 and was in status of the Karl Schorlemmer High Technical School until April 1, 1992.

Nowadays, Merseburg University of Applied Sciences is small but very prestigious University of applied sciences in Germany. It proposes 13 Bachelor and 10 Master Programmes as well as one retraining programme.

Double diploma programme

National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and Merseburg University of Applied Sciences (Faculty of Computer Science and Communication Systems) agreed about the common research programme.

After the successful graduation from Merseburg University of Applied Sciences, Ukrainian students receive the Bachelor Degree.

Faculty of Computer Science and Communication Systems (IКS) in Merseburg conducts the annual selection of students of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on one of the educational and research courses:

  • Applied Informatics (BAIN)
  • Electronics/Information Technologies (BEI)
  • Technical Editing of Systems and Electronic Education (BTREL)

Universities’ curricula are agreed and coordinated.

Entrance to the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences

The entrance for the study in Merseburg University of Applied Sciences is realizing after the first year of study in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The courses are taught in German.

Each May, representative of Merseburg University of Applied Sciences comes to Kyiv to conduct testing of students on the competence in German language. The test consists of three parts – grammar, reading and speaking (interview).

If students will pass the test successfully, they receive the invitation from Merseburg University of Applied Sciences for the invitation that they submit to the Embassy of Germany in Ukraine for the visa registration.

Duration of the study and curriculum in Germany

Bachelor Degree programme lasts 6 semesters (3 years). Because some courses are equal on first two years of study in Merseburg University of Applied Sciences and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, exists the possibility to transfer several grades (as Physics or Mathematics) and pass the programme during two years instead of three. Thus, students have the opportunity to finish the Bachelor Degree programme in both universities simultaneously.

After receiving the Bachelor Diploma in Merseburg University of Applied Sciences students can continue their education on the Master degree programme in Merseburg University of Applied Sciences or any other German university.

Funding and spends

The study in Merseburg University of Applied Sciences is free. Student should pay 50 EUR on the beginning of each semester. So the spends go only for the living. To register the visa in the Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine demand the opening the blocked account. This account should contain 8000 EUR – the sum than treated as the sufficient for one year of living in Germany. You should put this money into the account in the German bank so to have the further possibility to withdraw monthly for about 660 EUR.

Double Diploma Programme with Technische Universität Dresden

І. GENERAL INFORMATION

Technische Universität Dresden, or TUD — one of the biggest higher educational institution in Dresden. It occupies the first position by the number of students throughout technical universities of Germany.

This higher educational institution exists in Dresden already more than 200 years under different names, and it obtained its modern name in 1961. It is one of the oldest technical universities in Germany.

ІІ. MAIN WORK SCHEME

Students study 4 years of Bachelor Degree in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, then they finish 2 years of Master Degree in TU Dresden, defending their dissertation both in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and TU Dresden, receiving two diplomas. The study in double PhD Degree is also perspective.

To be enrolled in TU Dresden student should pass 5 exams: German language and 4 exams on specialty.

Double Diploma Programme with Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen

On 30th May, 2019, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and THM – Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen – University of Applied Sciences (Germany) signed the Agreement on the Double Degree Programme. This Programme provides the studies of Master students of the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and Automatics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute at the Faculty of Information Technics, Electric Technics and Mechatronics of the THM – Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen – University of Applied Sciences. Programme means the annual participation of 8 students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

Double Diploma Programme with the Université du Maine

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute successfully cooperates with the Université du Maine (France) for already 8 years. During this period, seven faculties of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute joined the Double degree programme.

Students have the opportunity to receive the Double Master Diploma after 4 years of study (Bachelor Degree): to study simultaneously in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and in the Université du Maine (France). So after graduating, students receive Ukrainian and French Diplomas. The study process is in French.

In frames of programme students have the opportunity to:

  • pass the intensive course of French language DUFOS for studying in France (July-August; 300 hours);
  • study in the Université du Maine by the suitable programme.
