Polytechnic University of Valencia (Universitat Politècnica de València) is a relatively young institution of higher education. Its history dates back to the early 1970s, but some schools, such as the School of Design, Alcoy Polytechnic and the Faculty of Fine Arts, have existed for over a hundred years.
The community of the Polytechnic University of Valencia is 42,000 people. Among them, about 37,800 are students, 2,600 are members of teaching and research staff, and 1,700 are administrative and service staff. The Polytechnic University of Valencia consists of 10 schools, 3 faculties and 2 higher polytechnic schools.
