University of Groningen (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, RUG), founded in 1614, is the second oldest university in the Netherlands with about 30,000 students. The university’s ten faculties cover all fields of science and offer 26 Bachelor’s and about 100 Master’s programmes taught in English.
The exchange of students and staff is an important part of international policy: the university wants at least half of its students to gain experience studying abroad, and has therefore set up an incentive fund available to complete it.
