Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg) was founded in 1993 by merging the existing Technical University, the Higher School of Education and the Magdeburg Medical Academy.
The university now has 9 faculties and almost 14,000 students, becoming more and more important as an educational and research center every year. The University of Magdeburg offers students a choice of 79 Bachelor’s degree programmes in a variety of fields, as well as a wide variety of graduate programmes. Modern laboratories, research workshops and medical offices, equipped with powerful computers, create the best conditions for students to study.
