Polytechnic Institute of Setubal (Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal) is a public institution of higher education located in the Greater Lisbon region of the Setubal region. The institute was established in 1979 and began operations in 1981. And currently consists of five faculties. It also brings together the Student Social Security Institute and a number of functional units and central services.

There are enterprises in the region in such industries as the paper and automobile industries. The institute has an important geostrategic position and is considered a gateway to Europe. In addition, the Setubal region, with its diverse landscape of sea and mountains, including a large UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a tourist destination for both Portuguese and foreigners.
