Centrale Nantes is one of the few French higher education institutions to train engineers of the highest technical and scientific level. The school is part of the international network TIME (Top Industrial Managers for Europe), and together with the Central Higher School of Lyon is the founder of France AEROTECH – a group specializing in training for the aerospace industry. Nantes High School was founded in 1919. Initially, it was focused on the production of engineers for shipbuilding. Later, other educational institutions from all over the region joined the school, as a result of which the Polytechnic Institute was established. In 1977 it moved to new buildings and received its current name.
