Project Description

ENSTA (French: École nationale supérieure de techniques avancées or ENSTA) is a prestigious multidisciplinary engineering school that offers world-class educational courses. It is part of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, a leading educational and research institution in France and abroad, which brings together five schools or Grandes Écoles.
Under the supervision of the Ministry of the Armed Forces, ENSTA provides multidisciplinary training, allowing its graduates to work in numerous sectors of activity corresponding to its areas of competence, such as automotive, rail, or maritime transport, energy, robotics, mathematical engineering, and digital technologies; sectors and industries that meet the needs of large businesses.
The agreement number under which the double degree programme is implemented is №Д/07.01.01/345/25 від 30.09.2025.
As a leading institution, the ENSTA school aims to develop student mobility through exchange programmes, research internships, and joint double degree programmes. Upon successful completion of all pedagogical requirements of both institutions, graduates of the double degree programme simultaneously receive the ENSTA engineering degree and the KPI Master’s degree.
The programme includes lectures and research activities:
- For KPI students: exchange studies for one or two semesters or a research internship in ENSTA laboratories lasting up to 3 months.
- For ENSTA students: a research internship lasting from 10 to 15 weeks or a semester exchange at KPI, which An individual curriculum is developed and approved for each student. Courses taken at ENSTA are fully credited at KPI. The double degree programme for KPI students is integrated into the ENSTA engineering cycle. ENSTA students at KPI study at the Master’s level (M1 and M2) and complete a final research project.
Language: Studies and internships are conducted in English or French. A language level of at least B1 is mandatory, as well as taking language courses at the home university and a one-month intensive course in the host country before the start of the mobility.
- Duration of study: The exchange programme (without receiving a degree) lasts 1 or 2 semesters. The double degree programme lasts 2 years for KPI students (with studies and projects at ENSTA) and 3 semesters for ENSTA students in Ukraine.
Degree award: The conferral of the KPI Master’s degree and the ENSTA engineering degree under the double degree programme is based on the fulfillment of an individual plan and the mandatory writing and defense of a Master’s thesis before an examination board. KPI students can defend their thesis either at ENSTA (under the joint supervision of professors from both universities) or upon returning to KPI. For Master’s graduates, there is an option to enroll in a postgraduate programme (PhD) in the laboratories of the partners, particularly under the conditions of joint thesis supervision (cotutelle) in case of mutual scientific interest
Students are exempt from tuition fees at the host university.
Expenses for travel, accommodation, visa, and insurance are covered by the students themselves, but the institutions undertake to facilitate obtaining financial support from international organizations (for example, the EU).
