1. Junior Year Program in English (JYPE)

JYPE – це програма обміну, яка надає можливість іноземним студентам бакалаврату вивчати природничі науки, інженерію і сільськогосподарські курси в Університеті Тохоку. Всі лекції начитуються англійською мовою.

Програма починається в жовтні (осінній семестр). Тривалість в основному 1 рік.

2. International Program in Liberal Arts (IPLA)

IPLA – програма обміну, яка надає можливість для іноземних студентів можливість вивчення різних гуманітарних наук, економіки, управління, освіти і літератури в Університеті Тохоку. Всі лекції начитуються англійською мовою.

Програма починається в жовтні (осінній семестр) і в квітні (весняний семестр).

Тривалість: 1 семестр або 1 рік (навчання тільки з жовтня).

3. Cooperative Laboratory Study Programme (COLABS)

The main goal of this programme is to provide the opportunity for foreign students and PhDs to conduct the scientific activities on the natural sciences (science, medicine, dentistry, pharmeceutics, engineering, agriculture, informatics, life sciences, ecology and biomedical engineering) in the given laboratory. Students will also study on the general educational courses taught in English in the University of Tohoku with aim of broadening the knowledge in new scientific branches.

The programme begins in October (autumn semester) and in April (spring semester).

Autumn Semester: October 1 to March 31
Spring Semester: April 1 to September 30

4. Direct Enrollment Education Programme (DEEP)& (DEEp-Bridge)

     4.1. Direct Enrollment Education Programme (DEEP)

This programme allows students and PhDs to study international courses and conduct researches together with Japanese students. DEEP students study on the one of natural science courses (science, engineering, agriculture, informatics, life sciences, ecology and biomedical engineering).

Master students could test the broad range of branches and highly specialized courses of University of Tohoku. Bachelors should have high competence in Japanese, because courses are taught in this language. The JLPT certificate (http://www.jlpt.jp/) N1 or equivalent is needed.

PhDs will participate in world-class researches in frames of activities of their departments, additionally to attending lectures. Student could conduct his researches in English if it was agreed with his scientific advisor.

    4.2. Direct Enrollment Education Programme for Humanities/Social Science Students (DEEp-Bridge)

DEEp-Bridge – exchange programme for students and PhDs on Humanities, who have JLPT rating of N3 or higher. Participants could study courses in Japanese and common courses according to their individual knowledge level. Students with JLPT rating of N1 or with rating 6 of Japanese language can study together with Japanese students.

The programme begins in October (autumn semester) and in April (Spring semester).

Duration: 1 semester or 1 year (enrollment in Ocotober).

Bachelors should have the SPOT Japanese language certificate with 65 or higher points. Online test is free (information about Japanese test http://ttbj.jp/mt/p2_e.html)

Student could conduct his researches in English if it was agreed with his scientific advisor.

ІІ. Proceeding documents

List of documents needed to prepare:

  1. Study plan (one А4 page);
  2. Transcript of records (original and certified translation in English);
  3. Recommendation letter;
  4. Document from the place of study (to take in in the Dean’s office) + certified translation in English;
  5. Scan-copy of external passport;
  6. Application form (filled) – recommendations on the scholarship is in the file;
  7. Scan-copy of the certificate of competence in English/Japanese language.  TOEFL/IELTS/Cambridge/CET certificate are suitable for English. TOEFL iBT 79 is level needed.   8. ID-photocard.
