univ1United European project «EU-PC Double Degree Master Programme in Automation/Mechatronics» is a project of ТEMPUS-IV programme, where 8 universities from Russia and Ukraine modernize their curricula in accordance with curricula in mechatronics existing in Czech and Bulgaria. Double Diploma Programme between Igor Sikorsky KPI and Technical University of Sofia provides the opportunity to receive the second Master Diploma in mechatronics after one semester of stying abroad. Technical University of Sofia is the biggest technical university in Bulgaria. It was founded in the middle ХХ century as a part of Higher Technical School and later obtained the status of the independent University. It consists of 14 main faculties, located in Sofia, Plovdiv and Sliven.



  • candidate should have the Bachelor diploma and the translation of the diploma in Bulgarian certified by notary (by the Consulate department of the Embassy of Republic of Bulgaria in Ukraine)
  • provide the Transcript of records
  • student should freely speak English. Desirely if student has IELTS (bands 6, 7, 8, 9), TOEFL (with minimum 550, 213 or 100 points), CAE, CPE, PITMAN or other certificate.
  • external passport, valid for not less than two years after enrollment to Master Degree.

A four-member Committee consisting of faculty members, where the student enters, reviews these documents and decides to enroll in the university. The University approves a student’s diploma and transfer disciplines that have been listened at the Ukrainian university.

Study in the Bulgarian universities for foreign citizens is chargeable. The tuition fee for the one semester is ≈1500 EUR.



Bulgaria is not a full member of the Schengen zone and it register the National visa. However, if you have the valid Schengen visa, you do not need the National visa for the trip to Bulgaria. Short-term visa to Bulgaria (up to 90 days) registrates via the Visa Centres in Kyiv.



You can reach the place of your study in the European partner-university in different ways — bus, train, car or plane.

Price of the transfer:

  • Bus ≈800 UAH;
  • Train ≈1080 UAH;
  • Plane ≈2400 UAH for a round-trip.


Cost of living:

  • one-person room ≈40 EUR per month;
  • two-person room ≈35 EUR per month;
  • three-person room ≈31 EUR per month.

Monthly spendings for students is about 150-200 EUR.


Medical insurance:

Students studying under state and intergovernmental agreements, as well as those who own the Unique State Number – identification code for PMP are entitled to receive free medical care at the University if they are under the age of 26 and do not work. Other foreign students are not entitled to medical insurance paid by the University. In such cases, health insurance is purchased independently.

In order to gain the function of a foreign document on education on the territory of Ukraine, as well as for the further employment or continuation of studies, it is possible to conduct the procedure for its recognition. This procedure is called Nostrification. Nostrification is a confirmation of foreign documents (diplomas) on education on the territory of Ukraine. Nostrification is carried out in the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.


Student of any level of higher professional education do not receive the diploma in case of expelling from University before the defence of the graduational qualification thesis.
