International Staff Training Week – Kyiv, 27/05/2019 – 31/05/2019

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was very glad to host you at the very first International Staff Training Week for Programme countries under the Erasmus+ programme, taking place within the dates 27 May 2019 – 31 May 2019.

Our International Staff Training Week was full of different events. Below you can find the memories and results of all five days:

DAY 1. Monday, 27 May 2019. Introduction. Meetings and acquaintance with Igor Sikorsky KPI.

Monday

The first day of the International Staff Training Week was on Monday, 27 May 2019. 15 participants from 10 different countries and 11 different universities gathered together in the building No 1. The administration of Igor Sikorsky KPI greeted the participants and presented the University and academic mobility process in Igor Sikorsky KPI in the Hall of Academic Council. After the coffee break, participants showed their presentations, telling about their countries and institutions. After the lunch, the group had the guided tour around campus and visited the State Polytechnic Museum, including the Aviation and Space Section.

DAY 2. Tuesday, 28 May 2019. Workshops: Cooperation. Partnership. Project Management. Meeting Kyiv.

Tuesday The second day of the International Staff Training Week started in the Hall of Administrative Council. Vice-Rector Prof. Serhii Sydorenko opened the session and together with participants discussed the topic on the development of students’ leadership qualities. Ivanna Atamanchuk from the National ERASMUS+ Office in Ukraine made the presentation for participants about opportunities and realization of Erasmus+ Programme in Ukraine. After the coffee break, the workshop session started: participants and coordinators discussed five topics: Recognition of Academic Results; Launching a Call, Selection Procedure, Digitalisation of Documents; How to Get Master and PhD Students Engaged in Erasmus+ Programme; Incoming Students Division and Buddy’s Programme; Dissemination and Promotion. After discussions, group leaders made short presentations on each topic. After the lunch, participants had a guided tour around Kyiv and acquainted with all the main sights of the Ukrainian capital.

DAY 3. Wednesday, 29 May 2019. Acquaintance with Igor Sikorsky KPI Library. Erasmus+ Study Fair.

Wednesday The third day of the International Staff Training Week was on Wednesday, 29 May. It began in the Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky KPI. The Director of the Library, Oksana Brui, made a presentation about the Library, its facilities and history, and made the guided tour around the building. Participants visited “Belka” Students’ Co-working Space, Ukrainian-Japanese Centre, “Lampa” Laboratory of Electronics and some other places in the Library. After the Lunch, Erasmus+ Incoming Officer Dmitriy Potikha made the presentation on incoming direction in Igor Sikorsky KPI and opened the Erasmus+ Study Fair in “Belka” Space. All the participants presented their universities and Ukrainian students had the opportunity to ask their questions.

DAY 4. Thursday, 30 May 2019. Meetings with faculties and institutes of Igor Sikorsky KPI. Tour to the National Folk Museum.

Participants spent the first part of the fourth day of the Week at the faculties – each of them had preliminary selected the faculty or institute of Igor Sikorsky KPI that is the main interest for the future collaboration. Generally, 10 faculties hosted all the participants of the Week. After the lunch, the group departed from the building No 1 to the National Museum of Folk Architecture of Ukraine, where all participants acquainted with Ukrainian culture, traditions, customs and folk architecture, as well as tried some national cuisine.

DAY 5. Friday, 31 May 2019. Final meeting with administration of Igor Sikorsky KPI. Certificates Ceremony.

Friday The last day of the International Staff Training Week started with the common meeting of participants with the administration of Igor Sikorsky KPI and representatives from faculties and institutes. Vice-Rectors Prof. Serhii Sydorenko and Prof. Petro Kyrychok exchanged the experience with participants, greeted them with the successful Week and presented certificates and souvenirs from the University. Each participant gave feedback on the Week, and their visit to Ukraine, Kyiv and Igor Sikorsky KPI. Finally, everybody agreed that the International Staff Training Week has passed successfully and our University will be happy to organise the same Erasmus Weeks annually.
